They're Here!!! (and so special to us!)

Here's our boys! They are Blue Great Danes expected to be around 200 lbs and about 37-39 in tall when completely grown! They arrived yesterday from their 18 hour journey from Germany via air and we are so excited they are here! They are the most loving and sweet boys. Palmer is adjusting slowly and stays at about a five to six feet distance still but he is warming up to them... he is spending A LOT of time under the bed. Izzak and Riggs are very intelligent and already seem to know their names after just a day with us. They had a vet visit this afternoon and at eight weeks old, Riggs is 30 lbs. and Izzak is 26! We have been well informed that these will be HUGE boys!
Riggs got his name, of course, from Ken and the business... (oil rig), and after originally wanting the name Truman and realizing he just wasn't a Truman, I thought considerably about a name and researched some in the German heritage and came up with Izzak. That is the German spelling and means, "laughter". He is a real comedian and very entertaining! He is very spunky and loves to play and has made us all laugh so much already, so it was very fitting! Riggs is a very calm and docile boy. When he sleeps there is nearly nothing that will wake him up... which is a characteristic like his master. Izzak literally sat on his head tonight and all that was showing was the end of his nose and he still slept through it. They are just an absolute joy and we are so blessed to have them. Enjoy the pics!

Their feet are the size of my palms...

That is Izzak pulling Riggs' ear... he can be quite mischievous!

This was a brand new toy and it didn't last one hour. Needless to say, they are very strong! Today I went back to the pet store and re-stocked all over again with new toys that are tougher and larger. We'll see how long they last!
