First Land Party = Success

This past Saturday Ken and I had our first party at the land. It was sort of a combination of celebrations for both closing on the land and the labor day holiday. Although, there sure was no shortage of work for us to do in preparation for it! We had 41 people come out and share the times with us. We all gorged ourselves on grilled chili smothered hot dogs, chips, and about every other type of junk food you can imagine. The men shot skeet and from what I heard Dean was "really good!". Everyone there was really good at shooting and I am very thankful I didn't get in the game because I would have been sent home with my tail tucked. Serious shooters they were.

Some of my family drove all the way in from Azle to join us and it was their first time to Sulphur Springs. They seemed surprised at how big the town was, but we didn't really get to show them very much before they headed back west. It was so so so great to spend some time with them. I hardly ever get to see them much less have some one-on-one time! Thanks for coming bros and sisters!
After dark, there was a four-wheeler rally large enough to shake the ground. It was pretty cool to see them all driving off into the dark- they looked and sounded so tough! After nearly two hours of riding they all returned covered in mud and a couple were even bleeding... sound fun anyone?? :) Our friend, Jeff, had an arm severely bleeding and when I saw it my tummy turned and said, "oh my goodness- first aid!" But he said it was just a scratch and he just bled easily... ummm... people, his arm looked like it had gotten attacked by a bear...he is braver than I. But he still laughed and didn't act like it hurt him at all. Tough man!

We had a camp fire and smores, of course, for the kiddos... and some adults, too. It was a wonderful time with our friends and family. All the babies and kids are welcome to come live with us! They were all so sweet and we love them very much. Thank you, all who came out, and please pray for our home being built, the crews and builder...and our sanity.
Here are a couple pics!

Lots of love,
M
