"The" Jandi

I previously posted about Jandi's senior pictures and here they are! Of course, not all three hundred of them, but some of my favorites, (which were so hard to choose- she can't take a bad pic!!)

Little Tiny Jack

Hello everyone! I have a great friend, Emily, who has this amazingly adorable little boy, Jack. We did some pictures for fun. Back when I saw him the first time I knew I wanted to capture his wee little, but so expressive features, (make sure you read that correctly... if a couple words were to be mis-read it could sound really bad!:)~. He made it so easy for me- he was extremely photogenic at his tiny little size! It was too hard to pick just a couple so there will be more than I thought- but he is too adorable and I couldn't decide! Makes mine and Ken's blood boil in a good way- we want a little one so badly! :)

This is Jack and Lily. If only Jack could talk... him staring at her makes me wonder so much what he is thinking that he can't say!

I love those dimples in his hands...

I told Emily that every time Ken sees this one he lets out a laugh because he wonders why his little arm was out like that. To precious...

I cherish the sweet life moments of a child.
Enjoy the day, M

Counting Down

This post remembers us a year and nine months ago when we got engaged.

Us after arriving at the Broadmoor-- my sweet Hunny. Look at that dimple!

Three days and counting...
We are so excited about our one year wedding anniversary coming up! We are shocked that is has already been a whole year. I guess the saying is true that time flies when you're having fun, because it has! In celebration of this anniversary he is whisping me off in a plane that is just like the one he proposed in, (but just a tad better), and we're going back to where we went when we got engaged- The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, (this place is stellar!!), so this should be so romantic. Sappy but true, he has been and always will be my prince charming! I hope everyone is having a truly wonderful week so far and is enjoying this fabulous weather!

Here are some memories from when we got engaged.
We did a horseback ride together in the Colorado mountains-- it was so beautiful up there!

Our first night there we went to a restaurant there at the resort and the server had asked why we were visiting there and we told them about our engagement. He asked how we had met and we told him that our first meeting was to go get cheesecake for Ken's family and we ended up talking for over two hours solid. The server said that they didn't have cheesecake on their menu but then later came back at the end of the meal and the chef had made it especially for us! We felt so special!

Ken asked the pilot to stop in Fort Worth on our way home so we could see my family! It was such a great time- my mom came running to us with three dozen roses in hand and the biggest smile on her face ever besides the one I think she'll have the day we announce we are with child. It was so fun to see my family at this exciting time for us! Then it took us only 15 minutes to get home to Sulphur Springs after that!

I thought this was sweet and showed some of my mom's passionate excitement. Somewhere in that sky is us in the plane leaving Fort Worth Mecham Airport... my mom kept taking pictures of us as we taxied down the runway and took off... and even when we were just a speck in the sky. I love her so much! She is so very special to us.
Love and Smiles,
M

I have several more posts coming up. I have baby Jack's pictures, Jandi's senior ones, and a wedding/honeymoon blog! Loving life!

The "Burg" Camping Trip!

We had a great camping trip this weekend with my side of the family and it was such a wonderful weekend! Ken and I packed up and headed to the Hill Country, Fredericksburg, TX where my parents are about to begin building their home and settle for good! It is so far away from good ol' Sulphur Springs, (6 hour drive!) but someday we hope to have a bird in the sky and this will make the trip so much easier.
Technically this was supposed to be a tent and "roughin' it" camping trip, but Ken and I decided to take advantage of the great places they have there to stay. So, we kind of cheated by renting a smart little cottage on Main Street in town. They have a charming downtown area with shops galore and tasty food. It was so great! Here are some pictures I got... great memories!
The area right outside the barn. (My parents had just had some grass laid). This was around the camping site-- notice the tent. That red swing has traveled the state. It was at our home when I was a little girl and it has traveled everywhere our family has moved... and been a rainbow of colors!

This was a great "sister" moment- I believe the girls had such a great time at Grammie's and Grandpa Bud's!

Ainsley, Marin, Jennifer and David, (their dad-not pictured), were having thumb wrestling wars and Marin had just beat her dad! (*wink wink*)

This is David, the girls' dad, showing us a huge-mama hot pepper that was in a bowl of munchy foods my bro and sis picked up for the camping trip. My sister accidentally ate a large chunk of one of these thinking it was a red bell pepper... she was, to say the least, very unpleasantly surprised!!

If you look very closely at the center of this pic, you can see my sis, Jennifer, tipping up a milk jug trying to cool the fire in her mouth! (My parents built a horse barn with a full apartment to live in while their home is being built. You're seeing part of the screened in porch and through to the kitchen in this picture. Also, the strung lights are so neat-- they are shotgun shells with Christmas lights pushed through them. A friend my mom's from an antique store in town has a son who makes and sells them and my mom couldn't resist! Too creative!)

It was quite chilly last weekend and crazy windy. Miss Sorella and Miss Annie both had their beautiful sweaters on. My mom positively spoils these girls!

.
Marin was really enjoying this cupcake! It was before dinner!!
Us working on our family tree. My parents bought a tree for each of the families to plant wherever we wanted on their acreage so that my mom can think of all of us when she looks out her windows or goes for a walk. I thought this was such a fun idea. It was no easy task digging just 20" down in the Hill Country. It took us every bit of half an hour to dig those 20"! You hit rock all the way down! My parents said the pool men might have to "blast" when they put in the pool! Different way of thinking for building- "Wood, check. Nails, check. Dynamite, check..."

The Goggans Family Tree

The Lozuk/Freeman Family

The Kiser Family

Ainsley brought all her horses and made stalls for them with rocks laying around. She is such an outdoor girl!

We had the best campfire snacks ever! All sorts of cheeses, crackers, vegetables, pepperonies and other meats, ahh... good food. Oh- and one Hannah Montana seat stool... that girl is hauntingly everywhere these days isn't she?

My niece, Ainsley got a cactus splinter "hurt" and she possess a major splinter phobia, so she got a paper towel and some tape, and later a sharpie, to bandage and add personality to her splinter. Then she went right along playing again!

Ainsley and her little thumb bandage friend. She created this herself and was being so silly.

Ainsley took us all on a walk with her compass which led to a letter from the Easter Bunny himself.

The girls under "Vicki's Corner" trees. Marin was so precious at this egg hunt. She would find an egg and but it in her bucket. Then she'd find another one and go take it to Ainsley... alternating. But Big Sis told her she gets keeps all the eggs she finds! Little Mare was perfectly willing to find eggs for her and her sis!

Little Marin on the hunt...

Checking out what is inside-- what my sis had in her hand is my all-time favorite Easter candy the Robin Egg malt ball. I have literally made myself sick eating so many!

These were Marin's infamous yellow boots she wore all weekend. She was so adorable in her little rain boots.

Ainsley striking a post with her egg. :)
We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
Enjoy the week!
