Oh my- love these!!

OK, this completely warms my heart and brings multiple smiles to my face... my love for miniature things just radiates when seeing these. My sis-in-law, Candace, sent me this email and I wanted to post the pics because they are hilarious. Ialready forwarded the email to a great number of people, but I just couldn't resist blogging about it, too! You can vote for your fav! I'd be so interested in knowing! I have no idea who to credit for the pics and the text, but I still wanted to share! (my fav is the Smorshe!)
Enjoy the weekend!

Plane, 4-Wheelers & a Ladybug

Here are some random pics I have taken here lately... My awesome Bub, Adam, came into town a couple months back and he was just chomping at the bit to get to ride in Danny's Stearman biplane. So when the weather was just right he did! Danny took him for a long flight and they did loops and hammer heads and fly-bys! It was great! I think Bub really enjoyed it and Danny is always a great tour guide. He is the person we all feel safest flying with! My mom and sis even flew in this plane with him at one point and if it were any other person besides Danny, they never would have done that! They were very skeptical of small planes prior to getting to fly with him... but not anymore! On a different day, we all went and rode four wheelers... so much fun! I hope all is well with everyone! Love and Smiles, M

That's Bub and Danny WAY up there!

Doing a fly-by...

At the land there is an old old old Case tractor from who knows what year. Ken and Grandad, Kenneth, who Ken is named after when he was born on Grandad's birthday, were trying to read the information to see how old it was.

He looked like a superstar that day! So hip!

Kyle getting his four wheeler out of the creek... he is the most daring rider of all of us... maybe the whole world!

R-L: Bub, (Adam), Ken, Kyle

Bub playing at Mud Bottom.

He was like a kid in a candy store!!

Lady the bug visited us while we were there.

If you look really close she is smiling. :)

My favorite: babies!

A while back we ladies had a play day/picnic and they all brought their itty bitties with them, Jack, Lucy, Alli and Caroline, (but she had to leave early so, she didn't get in any of the pics- we missed her. She is just fascinating and so shockingly intelligent!) Anywho, here are some fun pics I got. I hope everyone has had a great week so far! If you have had any interesting things happening let me know! I'd love to hear!

Jack- the cameras love him. He has such beautiful eyes!

All the kiddos were eating the sand as if it were a gourmet choice... something about the mixture of being hot, sweaty and in sand doesn't sound appealing by itself, much less liking the taste and texture of it! I guess it was good microderm abrasion for their gums!! :)
Little Alli- her chocolate drop eyes are beautiful, too! She has a smile to die for... the full one not shown here but it's true!

Sweet Jack, clearly out-numbered by the ladies! That's Alli to the left and Lucy to the right. Kind of like a junior high dance... all the girls on one side and boys on the other. :)
Alli's little swing hair cut...
Lucy- love those precious curls... what a sweetie and personality galore! When she gets excited it is absolutely impossible not to get excited with her! She is so very passionate and her presence just "pulls" you into her little world.
Alli was thirsty!

I would consider this the hard way, but she got what she wanted!

She had just gotten a mouthful... there is a little droplet falling from her chin. So cute!

Jack's little piggies! He is ALWAYS very calm, cool and collected. One time, on a different occasion than when these pictures were taken, he was in the pool sitting in a floaty, he had his arms propped up on the sides and was laying back... so chill. He is just a little man inside that tiny body!
Enjoy the smoldering hot week!

And all that jazz...& ballet

Ken and I went to my little nieces' first dance recital in Granbury two weekends ago and what a riot! All the costumes were just amazing- and the dancing, or lack there-of, was priceless. The children ranged from two up to probably sixteen and they came out in each age group and did a ballet and tap dance each. Right after the intermission the curtain came up and it was all the mom's of the kids in their taps ready to do their five minute Madagascar themed dance routine! It was an Irish clog- which is like Lord of the Dance style. It was AWESOME! My sis was in it and they all just blew the whole crowd away! Everyone in the audience was yelling so loud- it was so exciting! I was so proud of her! It was kind of one of those moments where you want to cry it was so cool... but I refrained because my mom probably would have giggled at me for crying. I can tear up very easily- even if I just hear something sad about some one that is pretend. It doesn't take much. Ok, a side note story: One time, Ken always smiles when we talk about this, but one time he and I were driving home from dinner in Winnsboro- a neighboring town- and it is a back country type road. There was a dog, animals are a sensitive subject for me, that had gotten hit and had died lying on the shoulder of the road. Usually I put my hand over my eyes when we drive past these situations but for whatever reason I didn't that time and I saw the sad scene. Well, that was sad enough to see, then as we kept driving we went over a slight hill and a little ol' grandpa was driving his golf cart towards us looking on the side of the road. He may have been just out for a stroll, he may have been collecting aluminum cans, he may have been simply looking for his bifocals, who knows but all I could think was that he was out looking for his doggie and didn't know that he was about to find it. Oh- I just couldn't hold back the tears! Ken giggled a little and encouraged me he was probably just taking a drive and he just held my hand. It was super sad and I will never forget it. I have those sensitive moments often. Cried just Monday when thinking I may have found the perfect girl for my little brother-in-law. I had to have tear ducts made when I was born and thank goodness they did! :)

Ok, on with the show... it was a sheer delight to watch! Afterwards we gave each of the girls flowers and then we, my parents, sis, bro-in-law, nieces, all hit Brahms for ice cream. Then we went to the hotel Ken and I were staying at and visited for about an hour and then everyone went home. It was a fun night! I was so thankful to get to see and spend some time with my family whom I don't get to see too often. Love them all so much!
Here are some pics of the recital. Too cute!

This is Marin, at this moment she decided she wanted to just take a break for a moment and she did. :)

Back in the swing- aren't their costumes just wonderful?
Ainsley- fourth from the right, in her wings!
So pretty... like any dancer you must bow at the end...

Marin- 2nd from the right- had the BEST turn of the group! Look at that form!

Ainsley, 2nd from left, in her Scottish attire for some tap dancing.

The mom's!! So cool!

My sis in front- she is so super fit! ...and the mother of two!! I can only hope I will look like her and my mom after having kiddos!
The little dancers post show.

Ainsley- minus her two front teeth! She is growing way too fast!

Marin, the entertainer. I love them both so much!
Enjoy the week!

Tiny Itty Bitty Baby Pickle

If you have read some of my past posts, you would know I have a particular fascination for things that are miniature.... when I see them I want to "take care" of them. Even though they are just "things", who knows if they have feelings? Anything miniature- especially when it is extra small- will get extensive attention from me. I saw this tiny itty bitty baby pickle in the jar with all the big ones and I just said out loud, "awe... oh my goodness you're so tiny." ...and for some reason I thought I'd share this tiny itty bitty baby pickle with you. Maybe it will bring a smile to your face because it is just so cute. Maybe you will think I've lost my mind... either way, if the tiny itty bitty baby pickle was ever insecure about it's size in that jar with the rest of those "normal" pickles, it has been officially recognized for being special. If you have no particular interest in this subject, please disregard and go on with the day. :) Lots of love and smiles, Mandy

Merle- the oldest grandpa turtle ever!

Meet our prehistoric buddy, Merle. He was crossing our yard and I was fascinated at his characteristics. Is there a way to tell how old a turtle is-- like counting the rings on a tree? I would definitely want to sedate this big boy prior to poking on him. As you can see, he has a very fierce tail and I bet little, yet powerful, razor-sharp chompers to go with that fierce tail! He was only moving about .004 mph... I guess grandpa turtles go in an even lower gear than youthful ones.

Love and smiles,
M
Happy Tuesday...or Wednesday if that is when you read this... or Thurs... or Fri... or Sat...!
